The Assistant Director (Program Management Specialist) manages and directs the planning of specialized programs on behalf of the Center for Financial Services and Principal Investment. The Center for Financial Services and Principal Investment is a new Center at the Kelley School that manages the Investment Banking Network and Investment Banking Workshop, and organizes several conferences in Bloomington, Indianapolis, New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco for students, alumni, and financial services professionals.

Department

Specific Responsibilities
  • Provides support to a start‑up center at the Kelley School named the Center for Financial Services and Principal Investment.
  • Supports Center Director and faculty concerning administrative, planning, and scheduling efficiency.
  • Plans and coordinates a variety of in‑person and virtual student‑oriented, alumni‑oriented, employer‑oriented and faculty‑oriented events for the Center, ranging from small meetings and seminars to large conferences and round tables both on and off campus.
  • Serves as a first point of contact and informational resource to all faculty, staff, students, alumni, financial services firms and visitors and answers questions regarding policies and procedures.
  • Works with faculty hiring committee to organize and manage faculty recruiting.
  • Assists with Center travel logistics and reimbursements.
  • Aides employers and alumni regarding student placement for internships and full‑time positions.
  • Provides assistance to faculty, including preparing correspondence, course material, and research material.
  • Submits course syllabi.
  • Serves as the department's IU Document Services liaison for items such as business cards and materials for department events.
General Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with team members to develop program objectives and create policies to meet them.
  • Coordinates program operation with all collaborative units.
  • Monitors progress and maintains all necessary data bases.
  • Actively recruits program participants and researches new venues and methods of recruitment.
  • May provide guidance to support and temporary staff and coordinates workflow for the program.
  • Researches available grants and assists creating funding proposals that further advance support of the program.
  • Writes grant reports.
  • Administers program budgets.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience
    • 3 years of directing and managing programs (Preferred).
  • Skills
    • Proficient communication skills.

    • Demonstrates a high commitment to quality.
    • Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

    • Knowledge of IU systems, as well as university rules and processes.
