Job Summary
The General Manager has ultimate accountability for the successful operation, growth, and prosperity of an assigned Fazoli’s Restaurant through the execution of People, Sales, and Profit.
PeopleAttract, interview, select, and onboard the restaurant team. Develop succession plans and bench strength using the Company’s internal development processes and performance management systems. Ensure operational standards, team performance, and financial goals are met.
SalesBuild professional business relationships and partnerships within the community. Participate in community affairs that build brand awareness and reflect favorably on the Company. Seek in‑house and off‑premise sales opportunities, executing approved marketing plans.
ProfitAdminister all aspects of the business with utmost integrity, maximizing profitability by instituting and enforcing effective management practices, policies, controls, tools, and systems that enhance efficiency, minimize waste and loss, and promote a safe, secure work environment for guests, team members, and investors.
Attributes of Success- Communicate and recruit effectively, both verbally and in writing, to a diverse range of internal and external clients; listen actively and convey knowledge in individual and group settings.
- Possess thorough knowledge of general business and financial principles, including profit and loss, budget, revenue generation, and drop‑through.
- Plan, prioritize, anticipate, analyze, and implement multiple strategies and tasks simultaneously within budget and on schedule.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, applying experience and leadership skills to assess opportunities and risks.
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit, competitive nature, and contagious enthusiasm that drive team performance to achieve desired results.
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Minimum Age: 18 years of age and must possess a valid driver’s license.
Experience and Training:
- External Candidates: Minimum of 3 years of prior General Manager experience; fast‑casual/quick‑service experience preferred, but not required.
- Internal Candidates: 1+ year as a successful Fazoli’s Assistant General Manager with recommendation from current General Manager and Area Supervisor; development readiness checklist completed.
- All candidates must successfully complete all required Fazoli’s training and certifications, including SERV Safe.
Must be available to work all hours of restaurant operations and must be able to work a weekly schedule that includes the required meal periods. Must have flexibility to transfer or assist at other Fazoli’s restaurants as business needs arise. Must maintain a safe and secure work environment by complying with all Safety & Security policies. Must successfully clear routine and periodic background, motor vehicle report, and reference checks.
WorkConditions
The role is performed in a restaurant environment with moderate noise. Tasks include standing, walking, sitting, bending, talking, and using hands to handle and reach. The position requires lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. The Company reserves the right to request a transfer to another restaurant, with mileage reimbursement provided if outside a 25‑mile radius.
Employment is full‑time. Salary range is $46,800 – $112,600 per year (location: Bloomington, IN).
