Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Shop Foreman to lead our fabrication team. The Shop Foreman will oversee daily shop operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, quality, and productivity in the fabrication and assembly of custom railing systems. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in metalworking, and the ability to mentor and guide team members while meeting production schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of fabricators, polishers, and other shop personnel.
  • Oversee workflow, delegate tasks, and monitor progress to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Interpret fabrication drawings and provide guidance to the team on project requirements.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment, tools, and machinery; enforce company safety policies.
  • Collaborate with project managers and leadership to align shop priorities with company goals.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate shop employees to promote skill development and high performance.
  • Inspect finished work for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or related trade, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication practices, welding processes (MIG/TIG), and finishing techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Reliable attendance and a hands-on leadership style.
