Job

Duties include:
  • Answering incoming live calls for very busy Cardiology department using nursing judgement to triage appropriately based upon IU Health and departmental protocols for 24 Cardiology providers.
  • Calling patients to discuss abnormal test results and provide physician direction.
  • Triaging in office patient nurse visits (medication questions, site checks, etc.)
  • May occasionally be asked to assist in other departments within the multi-Specialty practice when staffing needs arise.
  • Serve as a patient advocate in communications between patient and physician.
Requirements
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN);
    Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • May require ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction.
  • Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.
