Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour shifts or 4x12 hour shifts with guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week for 3x12s or 48 hours per week for 4x12s

• Mixed acuity unit combining PCU and Med Surg - must be comfortable working across all acuity levels as needed

• Patient ratios of 1:5

• Weekend requirement: every other weekend

• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

• 18 months of nursing experience required

• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS; NIH stroke scale preferred

• Previous charge experience preferred

• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs

• Manage patients with CV surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiology, endocrine, and oncology diagnoses

• Perform interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post cardiac surgery care, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management

• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips

• Care for ventilated patients with ventilator management experience preferred

• Work with telemetry monitoring in all private rooms with overhead lifts

• Use Cerner charting system

• Dress code: black bottoms and red top

• Free parking provided

• 36-hour orientation period

• Must obtain Indiana license or compact license prior to start date

This short-term acute care facility features 210 staffed beds and specializes in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery services. The facility operates a mixed acuity unit that combines progressive care and medical-surgical services, with the largest patient population being cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients including CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, and VATS procedures. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to ensure optimal patient care outcomes.
