IU Health Bloomington Hospital Endoscopy unit has 5 endoscopy suites. The RNs in this role will service outpatient and inpatient needs for gastroenterology and pulmonology procedures.
Our ideal candidate has previous experience working in a hospital setting with a background in procedural areas. This is a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail and time management skills.
There is a 30-minute response time for this role, and minimal on-call required.
Nursing skills gained on this unit:
- Obtain SGNA and Trauma certifications
- Develop phenomenal procedural skills
- Understand the world of surgical services from Pre/Post, OR room, Endo, PACU, and more
Unit Successes/Designations:
- Innovation procedures including 2 new procedures in 2023
- Began Fibroscan Testing
- Began ION Robotic Bronchoscopy

Qualifications
- Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN);
Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
