Veterinarian — High-Volume Spay/Neuter & Community Medicine

We are seeking a veterinarian who is passionate about community medicine, surgical care, and team development. This role offers the opportunity to focus on high-quality, high-volume surgery and preventive care — without the demands of traditional general practice.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working efficiently, values consistency, and is committed to mentoring support staff.

What You'll Do
  • Perform high-volume spay and neuter surgeries with strong surgical outcomes
  • Participate in low-cost vaccine and preventive care clinics
  • Oversee anesthesia protocols and ensure patient safety
  • Maintain accurate and compliant medical records
  • Mentor and train veterinary assistants in surgical prep, patient care, and workflow
  • Collaborate with leadership to maintain efficient clinic operations
Work environment: Pets Alive operates as a high-volume surgical clinic, typically performing 20 to 40+ procedures per day depending on staffing and schedule. The environment is team-based, efficient, and focused on delivering high-quality care at scale.
  • $120,000–$160,000 per year, based on experience
  • Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM — no weekends, no after-hours emergency care
  • Sign-on bonus available, based on experience and commitment
  • Health, dental, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with matching, retirement plan, and paid time off
Qualifications
  • DVM or equivalent degree required
  • Active Indiana veterinary license, or ability to obtain
  • Experience in high-volume or community practice preferred, but not required
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a structured, team-oriented environment
  • Interest in teaching and developing support staff
