The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for overall TGNA Traded Products Supply Chain Quality which includes assessing, monitoring, training/support and overall development of our Traded Product Suppliers and supports Quality Systems and activities for Traded Products.

Duties and responsibilities

Work with TGNA Sourcing to select potential suppliers then conduct the assessment and approval process based on ISO 9001:2015/IATF 16949:2016 requirements.

Conduct periodic site process and system audits to confirm adherence to Quality expectations.

Assist with developing the Supplier Scorecard System for Traded Products critical Suppliers.

Assist with the development of the Supplier Certification System for Traded Products.

Work with Purchasing to develop and maintain the Approved Supplier List.

Train/assist Suppliers to effectively execute Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) using Root Cause Analysis and 8-D Problem Solving Methods.

Assist N.A. & International Program Management with APQP activities.

Train/assist Suppliers in the effective use of Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Control Plans for Problem Prevention. This involves all AIAG quality tools.

Assist Suppliers with IMDS and other environmental documents as needed.

Travel to Suppliers and Customers when required including potential international destinations.

Work as a liaison between Traded Product Suppliers and Customers.

Assistance with Quality System development and its maintenance for Traded Products.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications

5 years of quality experience with some supplier quality preferred.

3 years of automotive, quality or manufacturing preferred.

Understanding of the use of Basic Quality Tools for continuous improvement such as Fishbone Diagrams, Control Charts, Histograms, and Pareto Charts.

Strong Mathematical skills including the use of basic statistics.

Efficient in the use of GSuite, spreadsheets, and project planning software.

Knowledge of quality assurance standards as outlined in ISO 9001/IATF (TS) 16949 and other designated quality systems. Auditing to those is a plus.

Proficient in the use of Flow Charts, FMEA, Control Plans and other AIAG Quality Tools.

Knowledge and use of metrology (measurement) tools and equipment.

Must have excellent written and communication skills.
