Bartender at O'Charley's
We’re looking for a dedicated Bartender who embodies our passion to serve and create memorable experiences for every guest.
ResponsibilitiesAt O’Charley's, our goal is to satisfy our guests completely so they will return again and again. You are hired because you demonstrate a “Passion to Serve.” Your first responsibility is to be an effective sales‑person. Understand our food and beverage menus, specials, and promos, and make recommendations based on your knowledge.
Your next responsibility is to ensure guests have a great experience by providing exceptional service. In order to accomplish this, you must:
- Make each guest feel appreciated through accommodating actions.
- Practice the “Hospitality Halo” with everyone within a six‑foot radius—smile, step aside, speak first. A friendly attitude is essential in building rapport with guests and team members. Be polite to all guests and team members.
- Work as a team with all O’Charley’s team members.
- Communicate clearly and enthusiastically with guests and team members; maintain an outgoing attitude and self‑composure at all times. Treat each guest with care as if they were the only ones in the restaurant.
- Immediately greet guests and ensure prompt, efficient food and beverage delivery. Serve in a timely manner, in accordance with each guest’s pace.
- Be organized, think and act quickly, and have a sense of urgency.
- Have a thorough knowledge of service sequences and guidelines; use this knowledge to serve guests effectively.
- Have a thorough knowledge of bar accounting procedures.
- Have a thorough knowledge of drink‑making techniques and recipes; prepare quality drinks for servers and guests.
- Maintain the bar’s appearance through cleaning and stocking; take pride in your personal appearance and the work area.
- Ensure “Perfect Drink” presentations before items are delivered to guests.
If a mistake occurs, own it and take ALL possible actions to correct it. All guests must leave knowing we cared about their individual situation and we put ourselves in their shoes to achieve a win‑win outcome.

Able to serve alcohol according to state law. Able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language of the work location. Able to perform simple mathematical calculations in regard to money handling. Able to stand and exert well‑paced mobility for periods up to five (5) hours in length. Must have a good sense of balance, be able to bend, kneel, and lift bus pans, trays, etc.,
frequently weighing up to 25 pounds.
