Commercial Roofing Service TechnicianPosition Identification:
Reports to:
Service Manager
Position Summary:
The Roofing Service Technician is part of a two‑man crew that performs a variety of flat membrane, metal, and shingle roof related repairs for Service Department clients within a 2 hour radius of the Bloomington office. This is a Union position within Local 119.
Job Functions:
- Assist lead technician in identifying and resolving leak sources
- Installing and repairing various components of flat roof material and flashings
- Setting up ladders and safety equipment for accessing roof elevations
- Assisting in loading or carrying miscellaneous roofing materials and equipment
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):
- High school graduate
- 1 year of experience with commercial roofing repair work or proven competency in construction trades
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to main office
- Ability to perform physical outdoor labor
- Ability to do general math
Key
Competencies:
- Repair/installation experience with EPDM, TPO, PVC membrane roofing
- Experience using construction related hand tools and equipment
Working Conditions:
Physical surroundings: Field environment with exposure to heights, noise and temperature. Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold and in windy conditions.
Physical Effort: Walking, turning, stooping and reaching for and carrying materials, stepping over and around obstacles, climbing ladders and scaffolding.
Travel: Local and surrounding counties
Hours: Subject to overtime
