Overview

Garage Door Doctor is seeking a positive, personable Garage Door Technician for a rewarding career opportunity. Pay during training is $18–$20/hr with a 60-day evaluation period, after which compensation moves to a 100% Performance Pay (Commission) model. Realistic annual earnings after training: $60,000–$80,000. The position is based out of our Bloomington office and serves Bloomington, Indianapolis, and the surrounding metro areas.

• Continuously grow your technical expertise while contributing to team development.
• Follow safety protocols and create a secure environment for clients and coworkers.
• Maintain accurate records of all work, including notes, diagrams, and photos.
• Conduct thorough inspections of installations and repairs to meet industry standards.
• Ensure workmanship guarantees exceed customer expectations.
• Provide professional, empathetic customer service at all times.
• Identify customer needs and provide solutions or alternatives.
• Document interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints.
• Seize upsell opportunities when appropriate.
• Stay knowledgeable about all products and services.
• Communicate and coordinate with colleagues as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Valid driver’s license and clean MVR required.
• Experience with garage door installation, repair, and maintenance is a plus.
• Ability to lift 75+ lbs, climb ladders, and use basic hand tools.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety rules and best practices.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
• Experience with Service Titan software a plus.
• Ability to adapt to different customer personalities.
• Time management and multitasking skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Pay during training: $18–$20/hour for 4–6 weeks.

After a 60-day evaluation period, transition to a 100% performance pay (commission) model with realistic annual earnings of $60,000–$80,000.
