Kinderplatz Childcare and Education Center is a federally subsidized, state-licensed, NAEYC-accredited program serving children ages 6 weeks to 8 years in Bloomington, MN. Founded in 1985, Kinderplatz offers a 4-Star Parent Aware rated program for infants through pre-kindergarten during the school year, with an optional Spanish immersion pre-k track. The center also provides a Summer School-age program for children up to age 8, supporting families with consistent, high-quality care year-round.
Located in a beautiful business park and modern, spacious facility, Kinderplatz is known for its experienced, long-term teaching staff who prioritize active supervision, nurturing care, and developmentally appropriate education.
This is a full-time, on-site Teacher/Teaching Assistant role based in Bloomington, MN. The Teacher/Teaching Assistant will support daily classroom routines, including preparing learning materials, assisting with lesson delivery, and engaging children in age-appropriate educational and play activities. Responsibilities include supervising children to ensure safety, supporting social-emotional development, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, and helping implement Kinderplatz curriculum and program policies.
The role involves communicating regularly with lead teachers and families, documenting observations of children’s development, and contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment. The Teacher/Teaching Assistant may assist with transitions between activities and support meal, rest, and outdoor times as part of the daily schedule.

- Strong communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues in a professional and respectful manner.
- CDA, coursework or a degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field are preferred
- Experience working in licensed childcare, preschool, or school-age programs, and familiarity with NAEYC standards or similar quality frameworks is beneficial
- Committed to following health, safety, and licensing regulations, work collaboratively on a team, and support an inclusive, culturally responsive classroom environment
