IntroductionCPI is seeking an Advanced FPGA Engineer to join our team supporting leading-edge defense technology programs. In this role, you’ll design and develop complex FPGA and ASIC systems used in secure, high-performance applications. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise to projects that directly impact national security and mission success.
Key Responsibilities- Design, verify, and document ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) developments.
- Define system architecture, simulation plans, and detailed design approaches.
- Develop module interfaces and manage all aspects of device design, simulation, and verification.
- Evaluate the design process, including synthesis, place-and-route, timing, and power utilization.
- Create and execute functional test and simulation plans.
- Analyze results and troubleshoot performance or design issues.
- Review vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, and device libraries as needed.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the ASIC/FPGA engineering organization.
- Research and analyze design proposals and specifications to determine feasibility and requirements.
- Select components and equipment based on performance and reliability criteria.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to complete major programs and projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related STEM field, plus 5+ years of relevant experience
; or a Master’s degree plus 3+ years of relevant experience
. - Strong understanding of ASIC/FPGA design concepts, principles, and verification methods
. - Proficiency with FPGA design tools and simulation environments.
- Experience with synthesis, timing analysis, and hardware validation.
- Ability to work independently with limited direction and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- U.S.
citizenship required due to the nature of work. - Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance
