Role Overview
Tran Serv International, Inc. (Tran Serv), a sister company of OPEN ACCESS TECHNOLOGY INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED headquartered in Bloomington, MN, provides transmission planning and operational services to electric transmission system operators. The company is seeking experienced Power Systems Electrical Engineers to plan, develop, and coordinate electrical transmission system expansion projects, including renewable and Smart Grid initiatives.
Base Pay Range$75,000 – $125,000 per year (commensurate with experience).
Key Responsibilities- Plan, develop, and coordinate electrical transmission system expansion projects.
- Perform stable analysis and other transmission planning engineering functions.
- Provide 24x7 client support as needed.
- Conduct transmission planning studies compliant with FERC requirements and industry reliability standards such as IEEE 2800.
- BSEE or MSEE preferred;
Math, Physics, or related fields acceptable. - Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) a plus.
- At least 3 years of experience in transmission system planning and interconnection studies.
- Proficiency with software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, TARA, and Aspen – or similar tools.
- Stability analysis skills and experience highly desired.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with NERC regional processes and transmission expansion planning processes is a plus.
- Acceptable background investigation report.
- U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident (for U.S. positions only).
