Computer Aided Design Technician - LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY

We are seeking an entry-level CAD Drafter/CAD Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity based onsite in Bloomington, MN. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is starting in drafting and is interested in developing into a design-focused role over time.

The selected candidate will support the revision of existing drawings and prepare drawings of basic components using written instructions, verbal direction, or detailed sketches. This position focuses on electrical design work and is not aligned with manufacturing backgrounds.

• Revise existing drawings and prepare new drawings of basic components
• Plot drawings accurately and efficiently
• Learn and follow company and client drafting standards and procedures
• Apply basic drafting practices within a selected discipline
• Work under direct supervision while developing technical proficiency

• Entry-level: 0–2 years of professional drafting experience
• Recent graduates with relevant coursework will be considered if CAD-certified

• Proficiency in at least one CAD platform, with the ability to use basic commands independently
• Familiarity with one or more of the following is preferred:
  • AutoCAD
  • Micro Station
  • Revit

• Associate’s degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (preferred), OR
• High school diploma with drafting coursework or specialized CAD certification
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture may be considered (exception)
• Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering field is NOT permitted
