Student - Nutrition Literature Review, Research Assistant

Hours: Approximately 3-5 hours per week

Duties:

  • Identify, review, and summarize peer-reviewed articles related to:
    • Acid-base balance in the body.
    • Alkaline vs. acidic diets and health outcomes.
    • pH and its role in chronic disease.
  • Organize findings into annotated bibliographies, research tables, and/or summary reports.
  • Provide brief synopses of relevant studies, including methods, outcomes, and limitations.
  • Collaborate on interpreting findings within a functional medicine framework.

Requirements
:

  • Currently enrolled and actively taking classes in the MHS Functional and Integrative Nutrition program.
  • Strong understanding of human physiology, biochemistry, and clinical nutrition principles.
  • Familiarity with functional medicine concepts and systems biology approaches.
  • Experience with academic research methods and scientific databases.
  • Excellent written communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and organization.
