Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Front Desk Agent for the Wyndham Bloomington Mall of America Hotel in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Base pay range: $19.00/hr - $20.00/hr.

Job Purpose

Respond in a professional and courteous manner to arriving, departing, and in‑house guests by providing accurate and timely information and services.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, register guests into the computer system, verify reservations, addresses, and credit information, promote the “preferred” guest program, and provide recognition and benefits to all current members.
  • Accept payment for guests’ accounts at registration and checkout, maintain a house bank, deposit and report receipts daily, handle cash checks, and exchange currency for guests.
  • Issue keys, control entrance of safety deposit boxes, and post miscellaneous charges as requested.
  • Promptly respond to and resolve guest complaints.
  • Answer telephone promptly, properly, and courteously.
  • Take reservations, perform check‑ins, and perform check‑outs efficiently, accurately, and thoroughly.
  • Assist with shuttle or transportation service in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Assist guests with luggage, use guests’ names, be knowledgeable and helpful about the local area, hotel, and hotel services.
  • Handle messages, wake‑up calls, mail, faxes, and laundry/dry‑cleaning needs.
  • Know of incoming VIPs.
  • Follow all applicable company standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other assignments as directed by the General Manager.
  • Maintain open communication with each department and participate in meetings, log books, and bulletins.
  • Be available to help other departments in emergency situations.
  • Ensure proper handling and accounting for keys and maintain knowledge of emergency procedures and security concerns.
  • Aggressively seek and react to opportunities to sell rooms, including re‑rents and last rooms available.
  • Offer customers upgraded rooms, promote hotel amenities and outlets, and enhance revenue.
  • Ensure all customers establish credit upon check‑in and adhere to cash flow and inventory control procedures.
  • Verify all reservation information, retrieve proper authorization codes, and process approvals.
  • Record special billing instructions and notify accounting.
  • Complete shift closing accurately with required signatures and authorization codes.
  • Stay current with hotel developments by reviewing the communication log book each shift.
  • Report potential sales contacts to the sales department.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Available to work both AM and PM shifts.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; secondary qualification.
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards.
  • English: must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computational and computer skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the hotel’s services, facilities, city attractions, and franchise honors program.
  • Work tasks performed indoors; moderate temperature.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move well‑paced for up to 4 hours, lift up to 15 lbs occasionally, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Strong manual dexterity for operating office equipment.
  • Strong listening, hearing, and visual acuity; ability to spend extended periods viewing a computer screen.
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
