HR Business Partner – Midwest Region

Brief

Description:

Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Business Partner will use business acumen to align business objectives with employee and leadership needs within the assigned business group. The incumbent will serve as a consultant to leaders on HR issues, address employee relations matters, and lead projects that drive the HR Department forward, acting as a change agent to enable growth and development.

Job Duties
  • Partner with Business Leaders on Human Capital initiatives, participate in leadership and functional meetings to understand organisational goals and challenges, and develop HR strategies and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to identify staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and implement effective recruitment and selection strategies.
  • Support the full talent‑management lifecycle: onboarding, career development, succession planning, training delivery, stay interviews, and exit interviews.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee relations matters—including conflict resolution, performance management, disciplinary actions, and employee grievances—to ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Assess organisational needs and develop strategies to enhance employee engagement, productivity, and overall effectiveness; collaborate on change‑management initiatives and culture‑building activities.
  • Drive annual initiatives such as performance reviews, merit planning, open enrollment, succession planning, talent management, well‑being initiatives, and the United Way campaign.
  • Work with the HR team to ensure competitive and equitable compensation; guide managers on salary administration.
  • Utilise HR data and metrics to identify trends, provide insights, and support data‑driven decision making; generate reports related to key HR metrics.
  • Lead or participate in HR projects—including systems implementations, policy and procedure creation or updates, diversity and inclusion initiatives, engagement surveys, and development programmes.
  • Plan site events such as leadership meetings, flu‑shot clinics, and company parties.
  • Participate in the Safety Committee and be responsible for filing the first report of injury.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Four (4) years of HR Business Partner experience required.
  • SHRM‑CP preferred.
Technology / Equipment
  • Microsoft Office
  • UKG or KPay experience preferred.
  • Familiar with Gen AI prompts.

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to leverage data and drive insights and recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand organisational goals and align HR strategies accordingly.

We offer a competitive base salary in the $90,000 to $110,000 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with an annual bonus and profit‑sharing opportunities tied to performance.
