As a Trailer Technician, you will complete DOT Inspections, aluminum welding of new tarps and cat walks, PM services, and various repairs.
Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and DOT Inspections on trailers, trucks/vehicles, and related equipment
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, disassemble vehicles and examine parts for defects and excessive wear
- Perform repair and customization work as assigned including routine maintenance, brake replacement/repair, suspension repair, electrical and pneumatic and hydraulic component troubleshooting and repair, trailer body repair including complete trailer rebuild
- Provide after-sale services, such as component installation
- Perform some fabricating, welding (stick, wire feed, braze, solder), cutting (gas, plasma, saws), riveting, and fiberglass repair
- Communicate effectively with the service manager, service writer and customers about jobs in progress
- Work efficiently and safely to provide the best service
- CDL is a plus, but not required
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Experience in trailer or vehicle maintenance and repair
- Ability to perform welding and fabricating tasks as listed in responsibilities
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
