Job ProfileThe bank is searching for a Loan Processor/Closer who will support the loan processing/closing function; prepare loan documents, review documents for accuracy, onboard loans, answer and direct phone calls, and report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor.
Education Level- High School Diploma or equivalent
- An advanced degree or specialized training in a business or financial field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a banking or related position, with a working knowledge of loans and documentation (preferred)
- Assembles files and sends to PHFA; follows up on any missing documentation with PHFA.
- Contact loan customers, insurance companies to request information.
- Cooperates with, participates in, and promotes the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety, soundness, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This includes annual Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training and complying with all BSA rules and regulations as they pertain to the job position within the Bank.
- Order, process, and review appraisals.
- Places, directs, and assists with internal and external telephone calls.
- Process mortgage files to prepare to go to underwriting.
- Provides information and assists in the preparation of various loan reports, HMDA reporting, etc.
- Reviews and updates secondary market automated underwriting reports.
- Schedules closings with attorneys and settlement agencies.
- Types correspondence memos, forms, tables, and reports. Utilizes word processing, spreadsheets, and specialized departmental equipment/software to prepare documents as appropriate.
- Understands and is familiar with all loan products and the documents specific to the products.
- Verifies completion of all loans being closed, has proper approvals, and meets bank policy.
- Works closely with Originators and Underwriters in all aspects of the loan process and closings.
- Works closely with title agents and abstract companies to prepare closing documents.
- Proficient reading and math skills are required, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Candidates must have proficient typing skills with high attention to detail and accuracy, and a positive and professional manner.
- Preference for working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures that impact consumer and mortgage loan document services.
- Communicates frequently with clients and lenders
- Deals with tight deadlines and accuracy
- Handles high volumes of paperwork
- Spends long hours on a computer
- Works in an office or remote setting
