Radiology - CT Tech

The CT Technologist is responsible for preparing patients for diagnostic procedures, explaining scans, positioning patients to capture appropriate images, and operating equipment to produce cross-section images of bones, organs, and tissue.

• Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Understand and complete necessary requisitions for ordered exams in a timely manner.
• Schedule all exams in a timely manner.
• Perform diagnostic Radiographic/Fluoroscopic C-arm exams on patients in the department and with portable equipment.
• Inject IV contrast media as needed.
• Perform a variety of examinations, reconstructions, and various printing protocols by the Radiologist.
• Identify various types of mechanical and electronic equipment failures to accurately diagnose problems with radiographic machines and processors.
• Explain the procedure to the patient and answer any questions related to the equipment or the procedure.
• Properly move and transport patients to and from the department as required.
• Order necessary supplies and maintain par levels.
• Treat all patients, guests, coworkers, and physicians with courtesy and friendliness regardless of their cultural/ethnic background, gender, orientation, or age.
• Attend required in-services and orientations.
• Work closely with floor staff and build positive relationships to facilitate excellent patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• CT Certification.
• BLS certification required.
• 3 years of experience in the Medical Imaging field (not including school).
• Experience operating facility-specific equipment (Philips).
