Assistant Plant Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Plant Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. This full-time, hands-on role involves assisting in the development and coordination of plant procurement processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, and will be eager to learn and grow with us.

This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the acquisition and maintenance of high-quality plant materials for various residential landscapes and outdoor spaces.

• Assist the Senior Plant Procurement Manager in sourcing high-quality plant materials for construction projects.
• Organize and manage the irrigation of plant materials at the office or holding yard.
• Schedule and coordinate the delivery of plant materials.
• Process purchase orders and ensure the accuracy of plant material deliveries.
• Enter purchase orders into the Aspire system for procured plant materials.
• Assist in the scheduling and procurement of plant materials for annual fall and spring plantings.
• Perform self pick-up and delivery of plant materials when required, excluding materials larger than 10 gallons.

• Education in horticulture or a related field is required.
• Experience in a greenhouse or nursery setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of plant identification and care specific to the Northern Utah region is preferred.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet software is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hold people accountable and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with purchase orders and job costing is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management.

• Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods and move between work sites.
• Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds safely and perform physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
• Adaptability to work in various weather conditions, including hot and cold environments.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
