Position Overview

The Lead Electrical Maintenance Technician acts as the on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for all electrical work. Responsibilities include coordinating the scheduling and execution of Preventative, Predictive, Corrective Maintenance, and Warranty work. The role involves a balance between administrative planning, scheduling, and documenting, as well as field supervision of the electrical crew. This position serves as the first line of supervision for the electrical team.

Key

Duties
  • Ensure electrical maintenance is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Installation, maintenance, testing, calibration, and commissioning of electrical systems and components.
  • Act as “Employee in Charge” on certain jobs, ensuring efficient planning and safety.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and service documents.
  • Maintain PPE, hand tools, and test equipment.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures, ensuring team safety.
  • Utilize troubleshooting tools such as digital multimeters, infrared scanners, and circuit tracers.
  • Perform calibration, testing, and inspections on various electrical equipment, including high and low voltage systems.
  • Record test data accurately using Power DB and Maximo.
  • Assist with start-up services on electrical systems up to 138 kV.
  • Conduct safety meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to achieve and maintain TS/SCI security clearance.
  • High School Diploma or GED, plus Electrical Journeyman License or relevant technical degree/certification (e.g., AS in Electrical/Electronics, NETA Level II, NICET Level II).
  • Minimum five years’ experience in facilities maintenance with a focus on electrical systems, controls, generators, and life safety systems.
  • Leadership skills with experience in scheduling and executing work in complex environments.
  • Proficiency in reading technical instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NETA maintenance practices, and related procedures.
  • Ability to evaluate electrical systems, perform damage assessments, and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Physical ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, and at heights up to 60 feet.
Additional Abilities
  • Lift at least 100 pounds and work at heights up to 60 feet.
  • Climb and balance on scaffolds, lifts, and ladders.
  • Visual and auditory acuity to perform detailed inspections and communicate effectively.
