This position is responsible for ensuring the continuous availability of the communications and network information systems environment for first shift at Bluffton facility. The primary focus is to configure, maintain, control, troubleshoot and monitor the facility's MES shop floor systems, office employees and LAN and WAN resources. A secondary focus is to coordinate with Corporate Information Systems (IS) team members to configure and maintain the local infrastructure for voice and data communications environment.
Responsibilities- Ability to work independently as well as in a team with minimal supervision
- An ability to use a logical and analytical approach to troubleshooting/problem solving
- Perform "on call" assignments and alternate shift coverage, as required, by responding to problem situations, following procedures for problem resolution and reporting, and engaging in follow-up analysis to determine and eliminate causes of errors
- Adheres to and enforces Corporate IT Policies, Procedures and Guidelines
- Minimum of five years of shop floor experience trouble shooting equipment
- Working knowledge of SQL with a minimum of three years practical experience
- Basic level of network trouble shooting and administration
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- 1 or more years experience coordinating manufacturing IT services, projects and/or operations.
- 3 or more years overall work experience.
- Working knowledge and/or experience with the Systems Development Lifecycle.
- Working knowledge of IT infrastructure services including Microsoft Windows server administration, network monitoring and database (SQL) reporting.
- Working knowledge and/or experience in Automotive or Manufacturing industry
- Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving specific problems.
- Proven team-worker.
- Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Exceptionally self-motivated and directed.
- Good analytical, evaluating and problem-solving abilities.
- Service orientation.
- Ability to function in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- B.S. or B.A. degree in the field of computer science, business administration, engineering, or related discipline preferred.
