Independently perform diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment, with some guidance from the Service Management team.
Responsibilities:- Perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere agricultural equipment and technology, and possibly on competitive equipment.
- Conduct diagnostics and repairs primarily in the shop, and in the field as needed.
- Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment required for the job.
- Participate in John Deere University and dealer-led training to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
- Meet requirements to be an Advanced Service Technician.
- Mentor apprentices and students as requested.
- Support customer clinics and maintain tools, inventory, and work area in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
- Follow all safety protocols and accurately track billable time, work orders, and materials used.
- Complete all required reports and forms promptly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
Associate’s degree preferred. - 3+ years of experience in service repairs preferred, with a track record of meeting performance metrics.
- Ability to perform repairs using specialized tools and manuals with minimal rework.
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems in off-road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment.
- Computer skills, including familiarity with Service ADVISOR or similar diagnostic tools, preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL and forklift license preferred.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly.
- Own a suitable toolset for the job.
- Driving record must meet insurance requirements.
