Coastal Security Services, Inc. (CSSI) has provided professional security across South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida since 2006. We staff hospitals, K-12 schools, gated residential communities, industrial sites, and major events. Every officer trains through the CSSI Training Academy, and our leadership team is in the field, not behind a desk.

We are hiring Unarmed Security Officers for client sites across Bluffton, Hilton Head Island, Beaufort, Hardeeville, and the Charleston area. Depending on your availability and experience you will be placed at a hospital campus or emergency department, a gated residential community, a commercial or industrial site, or on our Flex team that covers several of them.

This is a standing posting. We hire continuously across our sites in this area, not for one opening. Apply once. If you clear screening, you are placed as soon as a post fits your license, location, and availability. Cleared candidates who are not placed right away stay on file and hear from us first when the next post opens.

• Control access at gates, lobbies, and entry points; verify credentials and manage visitors
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, and parking areas
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems and respond to incidents, alarms, and medical emergencies
• De-escalate disruptive situations and coordinate with site staff and local law enforcement
• Write accurate daily activity reports and incident reports in our mobile reporting system
• Represent the client and CSSI with a professional appearance and attitude on every shift

Our sites run 24/7/365. Shift length and rotation vary by post (8-hour and 12-hour shifts, days, evenings, and overnights). Full-time and part-time schedules are available. Weekend availability is required for most posts.

CSSI uses post-based pay: your hourly rate is set by the site you are assigned to. Unarmed posts in this area start at $18.00 per hour, with higher rates at select sites. Overtime is paid at 1.5x for all hours over 40 in a work week.

• 18 years of age or older
• Ability to obtain SC SLED Unarmed Security Officer Registration under CSSI
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Able to stand, walk, and patrol for a full shift
• Clear verbal and written communication

• Current or prior SC Security Officer Registration
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
• Hospital, residential, or commercial security experience
• Prior military or law enforcement service

• Consistent full-time hours with overtime paid at 1.5x over 40 in a work week
• Training through the CSSI Training Academy at no cost to you
