Coastal Security Services, Inc. (CSSI) is hiring part-time Security Officers for healthcare facilities in the Bluffton and Hilton Head Island area. You will protect patients, visitors, and medical staff at medical centers and emergency departments. This role fits someone who wants steady part-time hours and stays calm when things get tense.
Pay$20.00 to $21.00 per hour, based on site assignment. CSSI uses post-based pay: your rate is set by the facility you work at.
SchedulePart-time, up to 32 hours per week. Afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts. Weekend and holiday availability required. Once assigned, you get a consistent weekly schedule.
What You'll Do- Control access points, verify credentials, and manage visitor and patient entry
- Patrol the interior and exterior of medical campuses
- Respond to security incidents, codes, and medical emergencies alongside hospital staff
- De-escalate situations involving patients, visitors, and individuals in crisis
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems
- Write accurate daily activity and incident reports
- Coordinate with clinical staff, local law enforcement, and CSSI dispatch
- 21 or older
- SC SLED Unarmed Security Officer Registration, or ability to obtain before start
- Must pass SLED background check
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Able to stand and walk for long periods
- Strong communication skills and a professional presence
- High school diploma or GED
- Hospital or healthcare security experience
- Military or law enforcement background
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- De-escalation or crisis intervention training (CPI or similar)
- Part-time schedule at an assigned facility
- In-house training that goes beyond state requirements
- A path to full-time, site supervisor, and leadership roles
- A leadership team that backs its officers
