Seward Motor Freight can be traced back to the early 1940s when the company was founded by Willard and Wanda Miers as a less‑than‑truck‑load (LTL) operation between Omaha and Seward, Nebraska. Wayne and Joanie Tanderup purchased and incorporated the business in 1969, growing it into a full truck‑load (TL) carrier with interstate commerce permits obtained in 1987. Since then, the company has expanded pulls, acquiring several trucking companies and broadening its services while maintaining a dry box van operation for general commodities (no haz‑mat).
The company holds authority to all 48 states, with limited travel zones as noted.
