Our client is a leading international main contractor with an exceptional reputation for delivering some of the world's most complex and technically advanced construction projects. Due to continued growth and the ongoing expansion of one of the UK's flagship hyperscale data centre developments, they are seeking to appoint 3x Senior Quantity Surveyors to join the project team in Northumberland.
This is an outstanding opportunity to become part of a major mission-critical construction programme with a contractor renowned for delivering high-profile projects across the UK and Europe. The successful candidates will join the project during a critical phase of construction, supporting the commercial delivery of significant civils, infrastructure and building packages.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the Commercial Leadership Team, you will play a key role in the commercial management of major work packages across this landmark development.
With the project currently progressing through substantial early works and infrastructure phases, there is a particular focus on candidates who have experience managing commercial activities associated with groundworks, earthworks, enabling works, drainage and major civil engineering packages.
You will work closely with project delivery teams, subcontractors, consultants and client stakeholders to ensure strong commercial performance, effective risk management and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the commercial delivery of major construction and infrastructure packages.
* Administer subcontract agreements, valuations, variations and final accounts.
* Prepare accurate cost reports, forecasts and cash flow projections.
* Support procurement activities and subcontractor negotiations.
* Monitor project budgets and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
* Manage change control, compensation events and contractual matters.
* Ensure robust commercial governance throughout the project lifecycle.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with project stakeholders.
* Support the successful delivery of project objectives relating to cost, programme and quality.
* Ensure compliance with company commercial procedures and contractual obligations.
About You
We're looking for experienced Quantity Surveyors with a strong background delivering major construction, infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
You will have:
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
* Experience working for a recognised main contractor or major infrastructure contractor.
* Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
* Excellent cost reporting, forecasting and financial management skills.
* Experience managing subcontractor accounts and procurement activities.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
* The ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced and technically challenging project environment.

Given the current phase of the project, experience in any of the following areas would be particularly advantageous:

Data Centre Experience
Previous data centre or mission-critical project experience would be beneficial.
However, we are equally keen to speak with candidates who have delivered major projects within sectors such as:

Candidates from Tier 1 contractors and major infrastructure businesses are strongly encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
* Professional membership (MRICS or equivalent) would be advantageous but is not essential.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management processes.
