I am looking for an experienced Project Manager to take the lead on a significant data centre development in Cambois, Northumberland. This is an opportunity for a driven construction professional to take genuine ownership of a major project, leading the delivery of groundworks, earthworks, concrete and civil engineering packages from the early stages through to completion.

Youll be responsible for bringing together people, programmes, subcontractors, resources and client requirements making sure everything comes together safely, efficiently, on programme and to an exceptional standard.

The Role As Project Manager, youll take overall responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of the project. Youll work closely with the client, consultants, commercial team and site personnel, providing clear leadership and keeping the project moving while maintaining the high standards expected on a major data centre development. Your responsibilities will include:
Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project. Manage groundworks, earthworks, concrete and civil engineering packages. Develop, manage and maintain the project programme, ensuring key milestones are achieved. Coordinate site teams, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, materials and resources. Act as the main point of contact for the client, consultants and key stakeholders. Build strong, professional relationships and maintain clear communication throughout the project.

Lead, motivate and manage the project team to achieve delivery targets. Work closely with the commercial team on cost control, valuations, variations and change management. Identify project risks and implement effective solutions before they impact programme or cost. Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety and compliance. Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, design requirements and client expectations.

Maintain the exacting quality and tolerance standards associated with data centre construction. Provide regular reporting to senior management covering progress, programme, commercial performance, risks and key issues. Work with estimating and pre-construction teams, providing buildability advice and lessons learned. Experience I am looking for a confident and experienced Project Manager who understands what it takes to deliver complex civil engineering and construction projects.

Youll ideally have experience in:
Civil engineering, groundworks and/or concrete construction. Managing large or complex construction projects. Controlling project programmes, budgets and resources. Leading multi-disciplinary site teams and subcontractors. Working directly with clients, consultants and senior stakeholders. Delivering projects where quality, programme and attention to detail are critical. Knowledge & Skills Youll have a strong understanding of:
Civil engineering and groundworks methodologies. Concrete construction and associated delivery requirements. Construction programming and project planning. UK health & safety legislation and CDM Regulations. Construction contracts and their impact on programme and commercial delivery. Quality control and inspection processes. The specific standards and requirements associated with data centre construction. Youll also need to be an effective leader, communicator and problem solver, with the confidence to make decisions and keep a complex project moving.

Qualifications Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience. SMSTS, NEBOSH or equivalent recognised health & safety qualification. Valid CSCS Manager-level card. Full UK driving licence. The Opportunity This is more than a project management position.
