SEN Teacher (PGCE & QTS Required)
Location: Blyth, Northumberland
Salary: £140 £ 190 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2026

A welcoming and supportive SEN school in Blyth, Northumberland is seeking a passionate SEN Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This SEN Teacher role is ideal for an enthusiastic educator who holds both a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and is committed to delivering high-quality teaching to pupils with a range of additional needs.
The successful SEN Teacher will work with pupils who may have ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs, communication difficulties and complex learning needs. As an SEN Teacher, you will create an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment where every pupil is supported academically, socially and emotionally to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teacher:
Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
Teaching pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
Assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress.
Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and targeted interventions.
Promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and independence.
Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external professionals.
Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.
The Ideal SEN Teacher Will:
Hold a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential).
Have experience teaching pupils with SEN within a UK school setting.
Have a strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive teaching practices.
Be patient, adaptable and committed to achieving positive outcomes for every pupil.
Have excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
Have a fully checkable work history.
