HGV Technician – Blyth

Salary
: £16‑£18 per hour (dependent on experience).

Shifts
:

• Dayshift:
  Monday‑Friday 08:00‑16:30
• Backshift:
  Monday‑Friday 13:30‑22:00
• Saturday OT: 08:00‑12:00 (usually worked on the week of Backshift)
• Alternate weeks

What You'll Do
:

• Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process
• Service customer vehicles and complete service sheets
• Road‑test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV licence)
• Assist with roadside breakdowns
• Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately
• Ensure all vehicle defects are reported
• Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy and well maintained
• Help support the development of trainees and apprentices

Qualifications
:

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or completion of an apprenticeship in the HGV industry
• Previous experience working on HGVs
