Slag Pot Welder, SMS

The Levy Group of Companies is seeking 2 certified Slag Pot Welders to work at our LNYS location in Blytheville, AR. The Slag Pot Welder performs all welding functions for the purpose of repairing and maintaining slag pots, buckets, ground engaging edges, and other equipment.

Shift: Days

• Inspect slag pots to determine necessary repairs
• Examine and document damage prior to starting repair (written and photographic documentation)
• Operate and maintain welding machinery and torch cutting equipment
• Recommend repair methods
• Weld cracks/washes according to procedures
• Maintain documentation related to labor and materials used
• Requisition welding rods and gases required for repairs
• Repair bucket damage, replace cutting edges, and repair minor cracks in equipment
• Meet customer service expectations
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

The ideal candidate will have:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate tools (grinding, discs, hand tools)
• Ability to work outdoors and tolerate noise and temperature variations
• Knowledge of welding materials
• Ability to weld, cut, and fabricate
• Basic mechanical skills and manual dexterity
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Physical ability to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and stoop for extended periods
• Willingness to perform other duties as assigned
