Quality Control Inspector OverviewJoin us as a Quality Control Inspector, where you'll play a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of production in our fabrication shop. Your responsibilities will include ensuring adherence to shop drawings and American Welding Society specifications, guaranteeing the quality and integrity of materials. Safety is paramount in this position, as any oversight in performing essential duties could pose risks to our team and the wider community.

- Paid Weekly
- Inspects all fabrication jobs to maintain the quality levels of work produced in accordance with applicable codes and standards and Prospect Steel QC procedures.
- Travels to subcontracts to inspect jobs for proper standards when required.
- Prepares daily inspection reports.
- Monitors records on all shop welders with their level of certification and monitors daily rod use.
- Assists in setting up, monitoring, and maintaining welding procedures, bolting procedures, and painting procedures required for projects.
- Provides feedback on questions related to qualifying and project requirements from shop employees.
- Has the ability to work overtime and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
- High School education or the equivalent is required.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in construction industry and/or welding.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) may be required; must be proficient in reading and interpreting structural steel drawings.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Ability to lift (or move) up to 50 lbs frequently, climb 25 ft, and bend, stoop, push, and pull frequently.
- Exposure to temperature fluctuations and a loud work environment.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required.
