Dedicated Critical Care Paramedic Transport

$10,000 Sign‑On bonus (taxable) available.
Bonus paid in full with first paycheck.
Full‑Time, 80 Hours/week.
Night Shift.
Onsite.
Assesses and implements patient care as directed by protocol or the Dedicated Transport Nurse for premature neonatal, pediatric and adult patients during transport in accordance with departmental standards of care and practice. Participates in the education of referral staff, patients, parents and ACH staff. Compliance with Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) standards required.
Responsibilities- Works collaboratively with the RN to provide direct patient care to critically ill neonates, pediatric and adult patients, utilizing advanced training to perform airway management including intubation as needed.
- Works collaboratively with the RN to maintain accurate records of pre‑transport, transport and follow‑up data.
- Responsible for safe operation of the ground transport vehicle, ensuring a safe environment for patient care and other team members, and maintaining vehicle functionality (weather conditions, restraints, fluid levels, lights, sirens, radios, cellular phones).
- Ensures vehicle maintenance, checks stock of drugs and supplies, restocks after each transport, and verifies biomedical equipment functionality.
- Complies with all CAMTS requirements related to certification, training and documentation.
- Other duties as required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of emergency care procedures and techniques within the medical transportation environment.
- Skills to assist with assessment, prioritization of patient needs, formulation and alteration of treatment plans under RN direction.
- Current Ohio licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician‑Paramedic (EMT‑P) (required upon hire).
- Minimum 3 years active critical‑care experience (or 4000 hours) as a flight/surface transport paramedic; in‑hospital experience is required.
- Valid Ohio state driver's license without restrictions and acceptable driving record per ACH policy.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) required.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Newborn Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS).
- STABLE (Sugar Temperature Airway Blood Pressure Labs and Emotional Support).
- PFCCS (Pediatric Fundamentals Critical Care Support).
- Specialty Care Certification in either Flight Paramedic (FP‑C) or Certified Neonatal Pediatric Transport (CNPT).
- Student must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain insurability per ACH insurance carrier requirements.
- Annual physical completed with the Akron Children’s Hospital Employee Health Department.
