Position Summary: The Patient Billing Representative will assist patients in understanding and arranging payment of their bills from MMC. They must have a strong working knowledge of MMC, billing, internal processes, and payment processing. The Patient Billing Representative is expected to have exceptional customer service and critical thinking skills in order to provide an exceptional experience for our patients.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Addresses patients inquires and concerns in a logical and helpful manner
- Obtains payment on outstanding balances or establishes arrangements for future payment
- Meets productivity standards provided by Patient Billing Coordinator
- Follows the policies, procedures, and guidelines established by the Patient Billing Coordinator, Patient Financial Services Director, and Marshall Medical Centers
- Works well with other departments and billing agencies to meet patient and organizational needs
This position requires, at minimum, a high school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Prior experience in the healthcare environment and/or customer service is preferred. A working knowledge of computers and systems to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are necessary. This position requires the ability to communicate in a pleasant, professional, concise, and caring manner.
