Construction Inspector (PTAN) – Arcadis
Role DescriptionArcadis is seeking a Part‑time as Needed (PTAN) Construction Inspector to join our Construction Management Team in South Florida. Hours will vary based on workload, providing flexible working arrangements. The role supports a top municipal consulting firm, handling municipal water and wastewater treatment, pump stations, SCADA, electrical, civil, and other construction projects. The Inspector will report to the Resident Engineer and/or Project Manager and may lead other inspectors, delivering daily construction updates.
Responsibilities- Observe and inspect contractor construction work.
- Perform punch list inspections.
- Review drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Prepare detailed daily activity and progress reports/photos.
- Participate in project schedule and contractor invoice reviews.
- Maintain quality assurance requirements and monitor code compliance issues.
- Inspect and determine deviations from contract documents; inform contractors of required corrections.
- Review submittals and recommend technical solutions.
- Attend construction, safety, and project site coordination meetings.
- Monitor and document contractor resource utilization (labor, materials, equipment).
- Verify equipment and material installations for payment purposes.
- Maintain payment quantity documentation.
- Perform necessary mathematical calculations.
- Ensure Arcadis’ project safety guidelines are met.
- Conduct local travel for site visits, client meetings, safety audits, and oversight.
Required Qualifications
• 5 years of mechanical/civil/utility construction inspection experience.
Key Skills & Attributes• Identify, analyze, and provide innovative solutions to problems.
• Strong mathematics aptitude.
• Ability to multitask and manage priorities.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook).
• 8 + years of civil/utility construction inspection experience.
• Experience with structural/mechanical/electrical inspection on infrastructure projects.

Certifications:
NASSCO ITCP/PACP, ACI or NICET, OSHA 10 Safety, Confined Space Entry.
• Active participation in a regional or national professional association.
Hourly range: $32–$45.
