Cost Engineer

PEC is an international technology supplier, committed to enable the production of green batteries for a Blue Planet. We are looking for a Cost Engineer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is based at our Belgian Office, in Heverlee. By joining us, you will contribute to building the first large scale battery factories in Europe and the United States.

We are looking for an analytical Cost Engineer to join our Procurement team. The Cost Engineer will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, analyzing data and overseeing budget control for projects. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to work with many internal stakeholders.

• Analysis of production method and production cost (material, capital, labour, energy, overhead, profit) to define cost targets for MTO parts and assemblies.
• Forecasting the detailed cost structure of products for injection moulding, sheet metal work, extrusion, Machined parts, Electronics.
• Follow up on raw material prices and future cost trends
• Define the target purchasing prices of MTO/EMS parts
• Advice to initiate Engineering/Production method changes based on potential cost reduction
• You act as a bridge between product development and purchasing

• A Master degree in Business Engineering, Business Economics or equivalent
• Proven experience as a cost engineer in a similar role in the engineering industry
• Excellent analytical, numerical and problem solving skills
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
• A strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
