Senior Project Manager - Transportation Planning

Job Description

CDM Smith currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with previous experience managing transportation planning projects to join and help lead our growing South Florida Transportation group. In this position, you will manage multi-modal work assignments, lead multi-disciplined project teams, develop the scope and budget for transportation projects (roadway and transit), and assist with marketing and business development activities.

This position can be based in any of our South Florida Offices - Plantation, Miami or Boca Raton

• Serve as the Senior Project Manager for transportation planning projects included in CDM’s span of services (Bus, Rail, complete streets, project development).
• Work with current staff to enhance our transportation and transit planning services capabilities in South Florida.
• Lead the development of project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and monitor and control project performance.
• Assist with marketing and business development efforts to expand our clients base and project opportunities with Florida region transportation agencies.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 10 years of related experience.
• PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list).
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, transportation planning/engineering, urban and regional planning or related fields.
• 15 minimum years of related experience in Transportation/Transit Planning or related areas.
• PE License or AICP a plus.
• Previous experience managing transit, transportation, and multi-modal projects.
• Previous experience managing urban design programs for multimodal transportation projects.
• Previous experience assisting with the proposal process and presenting/meeting with transportation clients.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
