Overview
A growing and dynamic private equity firm based in Boca Raton, FL is seeking an accomplished Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. This high-impact role is ideal for an experienced financial services or Third-Party Administrator (TPA) Controller who is ready to step into a more strategic, fast-paced investment environment. You will oversee all financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management while serving as a key financial partner to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all accounting operations, including monthly close, financial consolidations, investor reporting, and capital account activity.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and all applicable regulatory and investor requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support a rapidly growing investment platform.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, partnering with leadership to model fund performance, operating budgets, and long-term financial projections.
- Oversee cash flow management, capital calls, distributions, liquidity planning, and treasury functions.
- Provide strategic financial guidance by delivering analysis, dashboards, and insights that support investment decisions, operational improvements, and firm-wide growth initiatives.
- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and compliance with auditors, fund administrators, and tax advisors.
- Implement process enhancements and financial systems improvements to strengthen accuracy, scalability, and efficiency across the finance function.
- Collaborate with deal teams on transaction support, financial due diligence, and integration planning as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.
- 8-15 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong background in financial services or Third-Party Administrator (TPA) environments.
- Experience with fund accounting, investor reporting, or private equity structures.
- Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing accounting teams and complex financial operations.
- Deep understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for executive leadership.
- Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Experience with financial systems, reporting tools, and automation technologies.
- Move from a high-volume TPA environment into a strategic role with direct ownership of a private equity firm’s financial infrastructure.
