SummaryThe Finance Manager will support the Director of Finance in managing all aspects of the Finance Department, including financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, compliance, and internal controls. This role ensures the integrity of financial information, assists in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and provides financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making. The Finance Manager plays a key leadership role in maintaining accountability, supporting departmental leaders, and ensuring the hotel operates efficiently and in line with Hyatt and ownership expectations.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements in accordance with Hyatt and local requirements.
- Assist with annual budget preparation and rolling forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) and provide explanations and recommendations to management.
- Support the preparation of reports required by ownership and corporate teams.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable operations.
- Ensure compliance with Hyatt’s financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, and P&L accuracy.
- Ensure proper controls over cash handling, purchasing, and expense authorization.
- Supervise and develop the Finance team, fostering growth and continuous learning.
- Provide training and guidance to department heads on financial management and accountability.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to optimize efficiency and cost management while maintaining service quality.
- Act as a resource for problem‑solving and decision support across the property.
- Liaise with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders as required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations, and industry practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in hospitality or a service industry.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems skills (experience with Hyatt systems such as Birch Street, Hyperion, or equivalent preferred).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
