PositionSummary
MDVIP is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of financial work. This role supports the integrity of our financial reporting by performing key month-end close activities, preparing and reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements.
The Staff Accountant will also help strengthen internal controls and collaborate across departments to resolve financial inquiries and improve processes. This position reports to the Assistant Controller.
- Perform timely and accurate bank reconciliations and investigate variances as needed.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret financial information to support month-end and quarter-end close activities.
- Prepare, post, and review journal entries while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial data.
- Obtain an understanding of and complete balance sheet reconciliations with proper documentation and resolution of discrepancies.
- Manage fixed assets, including additions, disposals, depreciation schedules, and monthly reconciliation.
- Assist in establishing, documenting, and improving accounting procedures and internal controls to enhance process efficiency and accuracy.
- Support audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and resolving inquiries.
- Assist with other ad hoc deliverables and projects as needed and requested by department leaders, including administrative tasks including set up in Company platforms.

- Knowledge and application of GAAP required
Bachelor's degree in accounting from four-year College or university and at least two years related business experience; public accounting experience or work at a public company with SEC reporting experience highly desired. Related experience assumes a similar corporate role in accounting. Demonstrates excellent attention to details and organizational skills to produce accurate and timely output.
