Position Summary

The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient experience at our plastic surgery practice. This individual is the primary liaison between the patient and the practice, providing guidance and support from the initial consultation through post‑operative care. The PCC is responsible for educating patients, coordinating surgery schedules, managing documentation, and ensuring a smooth, compassionate journey throughout the entire treatment process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Communication & Education
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all prospective and existing patients.
  • Educate patients on surgical and non‑surgical procedures, pre‑ and post‑operative instructions, and recovery expectations.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance throughout the patient journey.
  • Participate in educational activities and programs as scheduled.
  • Participate in events and programs as requested by the marketing team.
  • Scheduling & Coordination
  • Act as first point of contact for patients inquiring about the specific procedures by email and mostly in person.
  • Meet with patients in consultation to discuss procedures of interest, fees, prepare surgical quotes and close consultation. Must be knowledgeable with all procedures offered by practice and able to educate patients effectively.
  • Ability to be competitive with quotes and make business decisions to effectively close sales.
  • Schedule, coordinate, confirm and reschedule patients’ surgical appointments, preoperative appointments. Assist in assessing medical clearance needs and executing orders, after‑care nursing, assist with hotel reservations, car services, etc.
  • Coordinate various requests for out‑of‑state patients visiting the practice.
  • Answer questions regarding patient surgical appointments and medical clearance testing.
  • Confer with surgeons and anesthesiologist and nursing staff regarding medical clearance orders.
  • Prepare surgical charts with all the necessary instructions, consents and documents.
  • Mail surgical packets and lab orders, prescriptions, and instructions. Supply information and brochures to the patient.
  • Attend required meetings and participate in committees as required.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through inter‑service meetings and education programs.
  • Assist with preparation of agendas, materials, meetings, etc.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Collect and post all charges and payment adjustments for all surgical procedures.
