DescriptionThe Technician will follow well‑defined instructions utilizing necessary skills to prepare and distribute medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Mastery of these duties includes but is not limited to: filling and labeling medications, refilling Pyxis, delivering medications to patient care areas, preparing IV admixture solutions, answering the telephone and directing the call to the appropriate staff, maintaining medication stock levels, and maintaining proper storage of medications to ensure safe and cost‑effective pharmaceutical services.
Mentoring and training of students.
Estimated pay range for this position is $22.00 / hour.
QualificationsDegrees:
- High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper.
Licenses &
Certifications:
- Registered Pharmacy Technician.
Additional Qualifications:
- Hospital experience preferred which may include internship training hours.
- Maintains PTCB or ICPT Certification.
- Three years of experience may substitute for the required certification.
