Job Summary:
We are beginning an exciting new chapter: building a modern data stack from the ground up. Our goal is to power smarter decisions, automate insights, and give every team the ability to confidently access and use data. We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer who can bridge data engineering and analytics by combining strong technical skills with a deep understanding of how the business uses data.
This is a foundational position within our growing Reporting & Analytics team. You will design, model, and optimize our cloud data environment while partnering with managed data engineering providers to ensure data moves cleanly and consistently from source to insight. You will also help define best practices and set standards for scalable, trusted analytics at All Star. In addition, the Engineer will act within the values of All Star Healthcare Solutions.
/ Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data models and dbt transformations that enable self‑service analytics.
- Work closely with managed data engineering partners to oversee data ingestion and ensure data quality and reliability.
- Own the transformation layer in our cloud data environment and create scalable, well‑documented datasets used across the business.
- Collaborate with analysts and business partners to establish a single source of truth for key metrics and KPIs.
- Define and maintain standards for data governance, testing, and documentation.
- Implement CI/CD workflows, version control, and automated data quality checks.
- Optimize data sources for Tableau while supporting the future rollout of a modern BI platform (Looker, Sigma, or Omni).
- Mentor analysts and contribute to a culture focused on data craftsmanship and continuous improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and business stakeholders.
- A builder’s mindset with an interest in shaping a new data environment from the ground up.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 4+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data analytics, or a related technical field.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and hands‑on experience with dbt (Core or Cloud).
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts such as star schemas and dimensional modeling.
- Experience with modern cloud data warehouses including Big Query, Snowflake, or Redshift.
- Experience integrating data from Salesforce, Hub Spot, or GA4 preferred, but not required.
- Comfort with light Python scripting or workflow automation tools.
- Previous experience working with or overseeing managed data engineering services.
- Any combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and/or education may be considered.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
