Responsibilities
  • Lead a team or teams responsible for technology solutions that meet business needs and satisfy risk and operational requirements of the Tech organization.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical, operational, risk management, and organizational challenges for a Line of Business (LOB) or several Sub LOBs.
  • Leverage emerging technologies and automation to improve business efficiencies, enhance speed-to-market of solution delivery, and support business and enterprise transformation and optimization.
  • Manage teammates with responsibilities including hiring, disciplinary actions, coaching, terminating, and performance reviews.
  • Direct the engineering and deployment of significant delivery projects in accordance with technical requirements, schedules, and budgets, including Agile methodologies.
  • Oversee planning, design, engineering, testing and deployment of application projects with resources that may include Waterfall or Agile approaches.
  • Develop departmental plans aligned to IT priorities and long-term operations planning and performance.
  • Provide guidance based on systems engineering and administration knowledge and coach team members.
  • Adapt plans to meet service and operational challenges; identify and mitigate risks.
  • Maintain an appropriate Risk Profile and collaborate with 2nd line of defense, auditors, and regulators to ensure risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Act as Agile champion in Agile environments; ensure high quality software delivery and automation; oversee software engineering and unit testing; support integration and functional testing; ensure code aligns with Product Owner acceptance criteria.
Qualifications
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and an equivalent combination of education and experience, including to a total of approximately 8 years IT software engineering experience, 5 years relevant business experience, 5 years project management experience, and at least 2 years of management experience.
  • Broad and in-depth knowledge of technology trends, regulatory requirements, and IT strategies to meet client and regulator demands.
  • Ability to translate enterprise-level strategic planning into software and data management needs; ability to create business plans and convert them into effective solutions.
  • Executive-level communication skills, including negotiation, facilitation, and presentation; experience negotiating with vendors.
  • Ability to lead complex projects with enterprise-wide implications and manage performance of multiple teams against financial and operational objectives.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Banking or financial services experience; production support experience and ownership of critical system stability; familiarity with Agile and waterfall methodologies; readiness to provide 24x7 support.

Candidate location: Must sit in the Boca Raton, FL office / four days a week.
