About the OpportunityOur Government & Public Sector Financial Accounting Advisory Services (GPS FAAS) team is growing exponentially. As a Senior Manager you will play a key role in that growth, communicating strategic goals both internally and externally. You will listen to and understand our clients to give them an exceptional experience in a field that offers no off‑the‑shelf recommendations.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Actively pursue business development activities: implement strategies, identify opportunities, develop proposal responses, and train staff.
- Execute engagement deliverables while managing assurance staff performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple service lines to build relationships and identify opportunities.
- Travel as required to meet key clients.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Direct field work and inform supervisors on engagement status.
- Deep understanding of GASB, budgetary reporting, and auditing concepts.
- Develop people through delegating tasks and providing guidance.
- Provide performance feedback, training, and performance reviews.
- Contribute ideas, listen and respond to team members.
- Foster an efficient, innovative, team‑oriented environment.
- Use technology to continually learn and share knowledge.
- Understand EY's service lines and encourage team members to contribute ideas.
- U.S. CPA license in your work state.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business discipline; 10+ years post‑college experience in financial audit and advisory with SLED clients.
- In‑depth understanding of US Governmental GAAP, GASB standards, Financial and Single Audits.
- Comprehensive knowledge of preparing and auditing ACFR, Annual Financial Statements and Single Audit Reports for SLED entities.
- Proficiency in modified‑accrual reporting, grants management, and budgetary reporting.
- Hands‑on experience with business development in the SLED space and proficiency in deal governance and proposal submissions.
- Experience with large regional or national NFP client is a plus.
- Excellent project management, communication, negotiation, and collaborative skills.
- Proven track record of managing, mentoring, and improving a high‑performing team.
- Dedication to teamwork and leadership; integrity in a professional environment.
- Must obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher.
- Travel flexibility: up to 30% for federal practice and up to 80% for state, local, and education practice.
- CGFM and/or CDFM

What We Offer- Competitive compensation and benefits package: base salary $146,700–$335,100 (range depends on location).
