Vice President of Safety
Mas Tec Power Delivery is seeking an experienced safety leader to join the Mas Tec Utility Services (MUS) team. The role reports to the Executive Vice President of Operations for MUS and works closely with the VP Corporate Safety. The VP Safety will build and maintain world‑class safety programs, lead a culture of safety, and serve as a key member of the senior leadership team.
OverviewMUS delivers critical infrastructure construction and engineering services for power delivery, gas, and water customers, specializing in both overhead and underground electric distribution. As part of the Mas Tec Power Delivery segment, MUS is certified as a minority‑controlled company and is backed by decades of industry experience.
Responsibilities- Understand the business, provide counsel, and drive action on safety matters.
- Advance relationships at all organizational levels to ensure safety policies and procedures are followed.
- Advise leadership on all safety activities and serve as subject‑matter expert.
- Lead rapid‑response investigations of incidents and catastrophes, working with counsel, regulators, and key stakeholders.
- Develop, monitor, and leverage KPIs/scorecards to drive improvement; prepare regular safety reports and presentations for leadership.
- Communicate incidents (including non‑injury incidents) to identify root causes, trends, and key learnings; develop corrective/preventive actions.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards; stay abreast of regulatory and market changes.

- 15+ years of relevant industry experience (field‑based workforce; Power Construction; DOT).
- Demonstrated competency with safety fundamentals, including DOT compliance.
- Ability to lead complex workplace incident investigations and regulatory reporting.
- Ability to develop, analyze, and interpret data to drive recommendations and action.
- Experience hiring, inspiring, leading, and developing talent.
- BS in Health & Safety Management, Risk Management, or related field; professional designation preferred (CSP, CIH, REM, CESCO, etc.).
- Proficient in MS Office products.
- Master’s degree in construction management, safety, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in a similar position.
