CFO, Financial Manager
Donna Klein Jewish Academy (DKJA), located in Boca Raton, Florida, is a leading Jewish community day school serving students in grades K–12.
DKJA is uniquely situated on the secure, 100-acre campus of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County—the largest Jewish campus in the country—providing unparalleled access to resources, safety, and a vibrant Jewish communal life.
This is a pivotal moment for DKJA. Under the visionary and stable leadership of Head of School Helena Levine, the school is elevating its financial leadership by expanding the Chief Financial Officer role to Chief Financial and Operating Officer (CFOO). The CFOO will serve as a strategic partner to the Head of School and Board of Trustees, helping to guide DKJA through a bold and forward-thinking five-year strategic plan.
DKJA’s new strategic plan is grounded in six priorities: advancing academic excellence, enhancing programmatic and co-curricular experiences, deepening Jewish identity and Hebrew language proficiency, ensuring long-term financial sustainability, strengthening community engagement and branding, and investing in campus development. This plan reflects the collective aspirations of the DKJA community and sets a clear path for continued growth, innovation, and impact—anchored in core Jewish values, creativity, and lasting connections.
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced, hands‑on leader to help shape the next chapter of DKJA’s story—advancing its mission, strengthening its community, and ensuring its long‑term sustainability.
The successful Chief Financial and Operating Officer at DKJA will be:- A Trusted Partner and Strategic Advisor: Serves as a key member of the senior leadership team, providing expert guidance to the Head of School and Board of Trustees on financial strategy, operational excellence, institutional risk, and organizational structure. The CFOO fosters trust, clarity, and collaboration in decision‑making, helping to advance DKJA’s mission and strategic priorities.
- An Empowering Team Builder: Leads, supports, and develops a high‑performing business office and operations team, ensuring each member is resourced, motivated, and empowered to contribute to a culture of service, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- A Systems Innovator and Risk Manager: Implements robust financial modeling, scenario planning, and enterprise risk management practices. The CFOO drives continuous improvement in budgeting, compliance, and operational efficiency, safeguarding DKJA’s financial health and reputation.
- A Community‑Focused Integrator: Builds strong relationships across campus and with external partners—including the Jewish Federation, JCC, and other agencies—navigating complex shared‑use arrangements and championing a collaborative, service‑oriented culture.
- A Mission‑Driven Problem Solver: Demonstrates integrity, critical thinking, and deep knowledge of independent school operations, including finance, facilities, technology, human resources, and compliance. The CFOO manages complex challenges with respect, attention to detail, and a commitment to DKJA’s values and long‑term sustainability.
