Veterinary Operations Manager

Calusa Veterinary Center is seeking a full‑time Operations Manager to provide leadership and structure to our team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. With a solid understanding of the veterinary industry and prior experience overseeing clinic operations, you will lead with clarity, manage multiple priorities, and contribute directly to the ongoing excellence of the clinic and the well‑being of the animals we care for.

Location: Boca Raton, FL

Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 depending on skills and experience

Schedule: 40 hours per week. Monday – Friday, with some weekends and nighttime shifts.

• Operational Leadership:
  Oversee the day‑to‑day functions, including reception, scheduling, billing, and medical records management, to ensure efficiency and optimal performance.
• Team Management:
  Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and mentor all support staff (e.g., veterinary technicians, assistants, receptionists). Manage schedules, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and foster a positive work culture and cohesive team environment.
• Financial Oversight:
  Manage budgets, monitor financial performance (including P&L statements), oversee accounts receivable and payable, and implement cost‑effective measures to drive profitability.
• Client Relations:
  Maintain a high standard of client satisfaction, address concerns promptly, and ensure a positive experience for both pets and owners.
• Facilities & Inventory Management:
  Oversee the maintenance of the clinic, including equipment function and maintenance, cleanliness, and the ordering and control of all inventory and supplies.
• Strategic Planning & Marketing:
  Collaborate with the practice owner(s) or Medical Directors to develop business strategies, implement growth initiatives, and coordinate marketing efforts to attract and retain clients.

• Experience:
  
  A minimum of 2–5 years of experience in veterinary practice management or a similar leadership role.
• Leadership:
  Strong leadership, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills are essential to lead and motivate a diverse team.
• Communication:
  Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
• Business Acumen:
  Knowledge of business and financial management principles, including budgeting, P&L analysis, and human resources expertise.
• Education:
  
  A bachelor’s degree in business, veterinary management, or a related field is often preferred.

In addition to diagnostic and preventative services, our hospital is equipped with digital radiography, digital dental radiography, in‑house labs, CO2 laser, endoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, cold laser therapy, underwater treadmill, and ultrasound. We also offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy, acupuncture, rehabilitation, and pain management.

We are a full‑service, AAHA accredited 24‑hour GP and ER small animal practice with 10 doctors and a large staff serving our clients in the Boca Raton, FL area for the past 20+ years. Our 10,000 square foot state‑of‑the‑art facility is unlike any other in the area. We blend modern medicine with time‑tested practices to provide the highest quality care.
